Pinewood Derby
We can check off another pinewood Derby off our long list of pinewood derby races. Poor Chad. I have come to loathe the derby. Chad and I have been in cub scouts since Jared was a wolf. He has had to make more pinewood derby cars than we can count. He finds new ways to be creative every year. Neither of the boys won the fastest car, but they didn't ever come in last either. Landon's car was a sleek black one, which we thought would be faster than Spencer's truck. But sadly it wasn't. It's a lot of pressure for a dad, and a lot of pressure for the leaders. Leaders have to make sure it's fair and everyone is happy. That's hard with crazy parents and grandparents there watching. I think we were overall successful this year.
Easter
Easter is very low key at our house. The boys get a basket and usually a new tie and their new swim suit for the season. This year we had Willow come and stay with us. I didn't get pictures. Our neighborhood has a egg hunt and a brunch afterwards. It was the highlight and really fun!
New Haircuts
The boys got some rocking new haircuts. Kyle has decided he wants his done too. I am going to take him back this week. Kyle got his braces off. He looks so handsome. I was hoping it would solve his canker issues, but he just got a huge one. He loves having them off.

Spring Break 2014
For several years Chad and I would use Spring Break for our own vacation. We would leave the kids with family members and we would jet set off somewhere. Last year, we decided to take the kids to the Oregon coast. It was lovely and nice and we made some wonderful memories. Chad wanted to take a vacation with just the two of us this year. I love to go on vacation with just Chad, but I really felt like we needed to spend Spring Break with our kids. I feel like we only have a few more Spring Break's with Kyle and he will be graduated and off on his own. When I suggested that I was really hoping we could find somewhere to go on an airplane and make some fun memories that way. Well, it is pretty hard to find somewhere to fly during Spring Break that is open and will have enough seats available for all 6 of us. So, we decided not to fly anywhere. We have never been to Moab. Chad had heard from a couple of friend's how fun Moab is. So, the first three days of our Spring Break, we went to Moab. Chad rented us a one room cabin. It was in a campground. The cabin had two queen beds and a set of bunk beds in one room. It had a nice bathroom facility and was really cozy. We had a great time. We hiked to every arche you could possibly hike to...probably over 10 miles. The boys got to bike the infamous slick rock and a Moab trip wouldn't be complete without "Jeeping". He tried to take my little Lexi, but it just isn't meant for jeeping. Chad's friend Ben went with us and two of his kids (which was nice), so they went jeeping in his truck. I was happy to stay back and watch all of the bikes!

Our swimming pool closed so Chad snuck them in to a nearby pool
We thought this train tracks looked awesome
Getting ready to bike slick rock
Jeeping in Lexi didn't really work
After Moab we came home for the night and then went to a friends cabin. I didn't take very many pictures. We were too busy playing and relaxing. The boys had a blast having paintball wars.

Jared Turns 12
Jared has been looking forward to turning 12 for a really long time. He has been ready to graduate from primary since he was 10. Jared is smart, funny, kind and wise beyond his years. He is sensitive, especially to my feelings. He jumps in and helps when he sees me get frustrated. For his birthday he wanted an iPod touch or a mini fridge. I don't know how he thought of a mini fridge, but has been asking for it since Christmas. We don't let our kids have touches, so we found a cute little mini fridge. The morning of his birthday he woke up at 5:00 AM and went to work with Chad to do some simulator training.
He had a great time, but was really tired the rest of the day. While he was in the simulator Kyle and I got to work. We moved Kyle's stuff downstairs to his "new" bedroom, leaving Jared with his own bedroom. It was quite an under-taking. Jared was surprised and excited to see his own mini fridge filled with all of his favorite drinks. He also got a few new decorations for his room.
I think Jared's favorite thing he got for his birthday was the Priesthood. After his interview with the bishop, he kept saying, "I am a worthy to hold the Priesthood". "I am a worthy Priesthood holder." After receiving the Priesthood he said he felt so much different! It is so exciting to see our kids just as excited about spiritual gifts and temporal. I am so proud of him!
