My Big 40th
I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that loves to do nice things for me and suprise me. I had a wonderful birthday. We woke up that morning and got the kids ready for school. When the kids were ready to leave, Chad told me that I needed to be ready for the day as well. He told me to put on some good walking shoes. I didn't know what were doing. But, I put on my good walking shoes and off we went. We drove to the airport and we flew to San Diego with no clothes on our back. We spent the day shopping and enjoying the sights and the smell of the ocean. We took a little bay cruise and then went back to the airport and flew home. We were home by 10:00 PM. We had a wonderful day. I was dreading turning 40, but Chad was able to make it special for me.
Boating, boating and more boating
Our summer's are filled with boating. Our family has grown to love it. We have made so many special memories together while boating. Each of the boys can wakeboard and each of them has even solomn skiied this last year. Kyle drives the boat a lot for Chad so that he can ski as well. I love soakin up the sun and watching my boys find confidence through boating. I love watching them encourage each other and develop a stronger friendship with each other.
Spencer's Baptism
Spencer was babtized August 4,2013. It was a very special day. It was a stake baptism, but there were only two kids from our stake being baptized. It seemed very personable and nice. We had so many of our friends and family support us. Unfortunately, these are the only pictures that were taken. We felt really bad about Kyle not being at the baptism. He was on a Varsity Scout hike and we really felt like he needed to do that with the kids from our ward. Spencer was very excited and it was a great day!

Summer of Fun
We were so lucky to spend some time with Calvin and Cathryn's kids this summer. My dear sweet sister-in-law was on bed rest for most of the summer. It brings me so much happiness to look after my neices and nephews. They are so cute and loving and we had such a fun time. We went to the PG swimming pool several times. We went to the carnival and watched several movies and had great sleepovers! Oh how I love them!

Spencer's Baseball 2013
Bless Spencer's little heart. He has been begging to play baseball for a couple of season's now. We decided after signing Kyle and Jared up for every sport way too young we decided that we wouldn't sign the other boys up for a sport until the 3rd grade. I am not sure if it was the right decision or not, but our family was able to spend more time together instead of running crazy all over town to practice and games. Nevertheless, Spencer has seemed to be infactuated with baseball. He recently read a book about Babe Ruth and has wanted to sign up for baseball ever since. He had a great season. He loved it so much! It was fun to watch him get so excited about it!
He also loved to play catcher

Swim Team 2013
We are super proud of Jared. We have been looking for a sport for Jared. As I have watched him over the years, I have always been so impressed at his swimming skills. He has always been a natural at it with little or no swimming lessons. I talked him into trying out for the swim team this year. He agreed and made the team. Swim team is no picnic. He had to be at practice at 6:30 every morning in the summer when most kids are sleeping in). Practice was 1 1/2 hours long. We were so proud of him because he woke up every morning on his own and he would walk over to the swimming pool as well. I loved it because it tired him out and gave him great exercise. He did great at his swim meets for a first time swimmer!
A lot to catch up on...
Guess I will just begin with Summer 2013, right after I left off with Spencer's baptism pictures. Kyle and Jared had a scout camp out. Jared wasn't twelve yet, but because Chad could go, Jared was able to go and work on a few merit badges. He went on a long overnight hike and was able to keep up the whole time. He and Chad bonded and I think that is the most important thing. I will have to say that I look forward to the day when all of the boys have their Eagle Scout and I don't have to worry about scouting another day in my life!
