Soccer and Wrestling

Landon was on a soccer team with his friend Zachary Cutler. Landon is quite a good little soccer player. His last coach discovered that he is quite a good goalie. His coach hasn't played him a lot as goalie because he has needed him out of the field. Wrestling season as begun. Every year, I have mixed emotions about wrestling. I think it is such a good sport. But, it is tough. I love to watch other kids wrestle, but it is hard for me to watch my own kids. Chad has helped coach the High School team for the last 8-9 years. I also have mixed emotions about it. He loves working with the kids and also gets a good workout with them. But, it sure takes a lot of time away from our family. He has been gone the last two Friday and Saturday's helping at a wrestling tournament. Every year, I think I will be used to it and it won't bother me, but I guess it's just extra hard because it is right before Christmas. It's a pretty stressful time of year and that just adds to the stress. But, Chad loves it so I will support him in it. Kyle decided not to wrestle this year. Landon and Spencer were very excited about it and we are making Jared go to 2-3 practices a week. He needs the excercise.

Halloween 2013

For anyone that knows me very well, knows that Halloween is my favorite holiday. It's funny that it's my favorite because I don't like scarey things or scarey movies. I guess I just love that there is no pressure with Halloween. I don't have to think of gifts to give (I am a terrible gift giver), I don't have to spend a lot of money (I don't like spending money), and let's just face it, I love candy. This year, Kyle made his costume. It some Dead Mouse Ghost off of a music video. I talked Spencer and Landon into being the Lone Ranger and Tonto. We saw that movie this year with Jonny Depp and loved it. Jared chose to be a dirt bike rider. So easy, since we already had all of the gear! We went trunk or treating with Calvin and Cathryn and then went trick or treating with a few neighbors. After trick or treating we went to my dream home in Lindon. They set up their whole house and yard in a Haunted House. They had the whole thing staged with actors. They had mermaids in their pool and actors with real snakes and trantulas. They had a haunted cemetary in their private little park. I can't describe it all, because it was just so amazing!

More Random Pictures from August & September

In the summer, we love to swim. We swim almost everyday. Our city pool is only a block away, and we get a pass to Seven Peaks every year. If we aren't at one of those two places we are out on the boat. It is quite ironic since I am afraid of water. But, luckily my boys aren't. They love it, and I love to soak up the sun. It rained one day and Jared went outside to "dance" in the rain. So cute. One Sunday we went for a walk as a family. Jared and Landon road on their roller blades. We stopped at the High School for a bit. Landon went down the huge grassy hill on his roller blades a few times. I had a bad feeling about it. Jared decided he wanted to try, so he started to go down the hill and got going a little too fast for his liking, so he sat backwards to stop himself. Well, he landed on his elbow. He was hurt pretty badly so we took him into the Doctor. They x-rayed it and it wasn't broken. While they were doing the x-rays he looked like he was going to pass out. Spencer lost his front tooth and wanted a picture, because it was pretty bloody. Only a boy would like that much blood. I grew a great little garden this year. All of the things we needed for salsa. I also grew Kale for the first time this year and loved it! One day, Cathryn and I took Jared, Landon, Spencer and Jace down to Granny's office to get a Massage. They all loved it. Spencer was hilarious and laughed the entire time. Jace just thought it was the coolest thing ever. He loved getting one and also loved helping Granny with her rocks. It was so adorable.

SOJO Marathon

This last summer our neighbor and dear friend lost her husband. It was so heartbreaking. He loved to run and had ran in several marathons.  His wife Mindy decided that she wanted to run a marathon in his honor. A few of us neighbors and a ton of her family went to the race to cheer her on. All of the kids entered a fun run and loved it. Mindy did amazing in her first Marathon. She was so inspiring !

Random Pictures from October

We had Mike DeGering from our ward come and talk to our little scouts about a Fireman's uniform. My husband started growing some weird mustaches. We sold the burb and got our Little "Lexi". Actually, a 2005 Lexus GX470. I love it! Spencer and I had to drop the burb off to get the carpets cleaned and he rode this funny little ride. It seemed so weird that he was just way too big to be on it, but he loved it like he was two! It was so funny to me! Ellie snores and sleeps crazy!

October Fall Break 2013

This year right before Fall Break the Government had a "shut down". That meant that that all of the National Parks, canyons, and lakes were shut down. That meant that we couldn't go to Lake Powell for Fall Break. That also meant that we couldn't go to Bryce, or Zion's Canyon. We usually go to Lake Powell and couldn't this year. We decided to just go to St. George. We didn't take a lot of pictures, but we stayed with Paul and Dianne Trammell. We swam in their indoor pool. The kids took their Mountain Bikes and went for a couple of rides. We visited with my dad a little bit and hiked in Snow Canyon...it was opened. We had a great time. We are so thankful that we are able to take our children on fun vacations and make fun memories together!

Pleasant Grove Biking Viking's

This year Kyle joined the Pleasant Grove High School Mountain Biking Team. He really liked it. Kyle has a natural ability at extreme sports. Mountain Biking, slalom skiing, Wake Boarding, Snow Boarding and Riding Motorcycle's. I wish I had the time and money to get him real lessons or join a real ski team. So, he joined the Mountain Biking team. He loved it! He still has a lot to learn and improve on, but had a great year as a freshman!
