Kyle's Mountain Biking 2014

Kyle joined the High School Mountain Bike team again this year. The Biking Vikings! It was so fun to watch him ride. We got to travel around to beautiful mountains and enjoy lovely views while watching him race. Mountain Biking is a lot like swimming. Each racer tries to improve and beat their own time from the previous race. Kyle did a great job and is so easy going. He gets along great with everyone he comes in contact with. He seems to be well liked by teammates, coaches and ride leaders. There were hundreds of riders at each race, and he was a really good sport at each race.

First Day of School 2014

This school year had a lot of firsts for us! Kyle's first day of real High School. Next year he won't have enough fingers to hold up what grade he is in. Jared's first day of Jr. High, 7th grade. Landon and Spencer's first time at Elementary school without their big brothers to watch out for them. Kyle was up and off to High School before we were able to get a picture of all of them together. I can't remember what happened with Spencer while we were taking the group picture, but it is kinda funny that he is a little grumpy face. Since he is the youngest, he likes to try and get away with lots of stuff with his pouty face. I have to admit, a lot of times it works. Not this time though! They are all so handsome, and I really do get sad when they are gone all day to school. Most people that I talk to can't wait for their kids to get to school. I don't. I miss my kids. I also know that life gets crazy during school with sports, homework and friends. I like having my kids all to myself during the summer. I also realize that we don't have very many more years before Kyle is 18 and off on his own. I cherish all of time we have with each of them.

The Tranes

Every year that we go to Island Park we stop in Idaho Falls and stay with some friends of ours that we met while attending SUU. The Tranes. They were our next door neighbors in Cedar City. It has been so fun to keep in touch with them over the years and see their kids grow up. We only get to see them once a year, but we all really look forward to it.

Youth Conference 2014

For Youth Conference this summer the kids were able to go Rapelling at the Battlecreek Waterfall. Chad and I hiked up there with the little boys to watch. It was fun to see all of the youth gain a little confidence as they conquered a fear. Here is Kyle. Mr. NO FEAR with this extreme stuff. I could barely get a picture because he was flying down the mountain so fast.
Jared was a champ too. He didn't seem very nervous either.
Landon did amazing as well. He is overcoming his fear of heights and I couldn't be more proud of him!
Even Chad joined in on the fun!

Landon and Spencer Join the Swim Team

Landon and Spencer decided they wanted to participate in the swim team this year as well. They didn't have to go until 8:30 in the morning when the older kids were finished. They both seemed to really love it as well. Landon did a great job on the butterfly stroke. Spencer loved Freestyle. Halfway through the summer, they all took private lessons from Nate Bramhall who had graduated from High School the year before. Each of them improved their time and learned a lot from him. Swim Team

I am so proud of Jared. This is the second summer that he has done swim team. It is a huge committment. He had to wake up at 6:30 everyday. He woke up and walked to the swimming pool by himself everyday. He didn't complain and didn't miss a practice unless we were out of town. He tried his hardest at swim meets and we couldn't be more proud of him.
