Palm Springs 2014

This year for Fall Break we decided to take a family vacation to Palm Springs. In the past we have gone to Lake Powell, or Hiking in Zion's. Usually something camping. This year I requested to go somewhere warm, and not camping. We stayed a really nice crew Hotel. We ate out for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and had a great time! This is the kids first view of the pool. It is also the front of the Hotel and the grounds in front of the hotel.

This was the Pool Area in the day. It was so nice and warm and sunny. They boys had a great time just swimming and relaxing.

We had a great time swimming at night and sitting in the hot tub!

In the evening we would eat dinner outside and then sit by this cool fire.

We went and saw Alexander and the Horrible No Good Very Bad day. We all thought it was hilarious!

We also ate breakfast at the same spot everyday. It was yummy!

Chad's First Hunting Trip with Bill

Bill Nordgren has been asking Chad to go hunting with him for several years. It had never worked out until this year. He was able to go out for the day. They left bright and early one morning about 5:00AM and returned home late that night. Chad said they covered a lot of ground on the four wheelers, but didn't see too many deer.

Petra and Juno

The neighbors across the street had two Bull Mastiff dogs that Landon fell in love with. He and Chad were hired to "walk" the dogs. They usually tried to take Ellie with them. Ellie loved it and loved playing with them. They always got a ton of comments, because the dogs were so huge. One day, the dogs were gone. They had given them away. Landon was heart broken. He loved them.

Visit from Grandma Judith

Judith and Kenny stopped by for a couple of days to deliver a car and visit. It was nice to see them and the boys enjoyed all of the trinkets that Grandma Judith brought them.

Kyle and Chad Motorcycle Ride

Kyle finally got Chad to take him on a motorcycle ride in the fall. They had a wonderful time and the views were amazing.

Highland Rock Water slide

Last summer we took a hike to a natural water slide. We went with our friends, Rachel and Shaun Olsen and their kids. Rachel and her kids loved it, Landon and Spencer were the only ones in our family that decided to go down it (Kyle wasn't with us). There were a ton of people up there, and it was quite overwhelming. Landon was the first to go down and it took Spencer a while to get up the nerve. But, he finally did and had a great time. We were all excited to hike back down and get away from the crowd. The last picture is what the boys (even Chad) looked like hiking down the mountain. Silly boys!

Chad's trip to Washington DC

Chad and I have always wanted to go to Washington DC. We just haven't ever made the time to go together. In August, he had a trip assigned to him that had a really long Layover in Washington DC. He made the best of it, rented a car and went off site seeing on his own. He got some great shots! I can't wait until we can go back together.
