December 2016
Jared finished his Eagle and had his board of review this month. He was super nervous, but had a great interview and is so glad that it is over with. He was able to order $5,000 worth of new books and developed a new way for organizing the books for Central Elementary's take home reading library and covered all of the books with contact paper. He had ward members sign up to help at a specific time and also send books home with families to work on. It was a great project and for the most part not too difficult.
Christmas 2016 was our "throw back" Christmas. The only reason we really called it a throw back Christmas was because we got the kids Onsie Jammies. It was a huge success and they seemed to be really love them. The kids got a haul for Christmas. We were able to go to Temple Square with Grandma Judith and focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
This year my Dad's family was in charge of the BIG Prestwich Family Christmas party/reunion. I wish I would have gotten more pictures. We scheduled it at our church building with a Hawaiian Christmas theme. Lisa and I got all of the decorations and Adam had his friend cater from MO Betta's. It was Yummy and everyone loved it. We had the kids decorate an ornament with sand and sea shells. It seemed liked everyone loved it and had a great time together.
Each year Grandma Julie invites the kids over to decorate Gingerbread houses. This year she had some of my favorite Nastalgic candy. I have always had an obessession with candy. One of my favorites books is called Candy Freak. It is about a guy who goes around the county to find Nastalgic candy and describes it perfectly. Be warned if you read it. It may have a few F bombs. The kids seem to love decorating the houses, but mostly eating the candy.
All four boys had ski passes and went skiing together. I loved watching Kyle being the big brother, driving them up and taking care of them.
Landon got Glasses and Chad's truck. Not sure if these were the pictures he used to sell his truck or his tires. We loved this truck. Got it from an old farmer guy and it had really low miles. Plenty of room inside and very clean. The only problem is; gas mileage, and it rode really rough. Could have towed a little better too. When we sold it Chad got multiple bids for more than he was offering.
