June 2016 Alaska Trip
We were so blessed to be able to go to Alaska and stay with Chad's aunt Jackie and uncle Steve. We had the trip of a life time. On our first day there, we tried doing baptisms at the Anchorage temple. Unfortunately, it wasn't open, but we walked around and took some pictures of the beautiful time and grounds. It was a lot smaller than we imagined, but just as beautiful as we imagined. We had so many highlights of the trip. We were able to go to the small Talkeetna airport and rented a plane and flew into Mt Denali. We were able to land on the glacier and see some breath taking sights. The boys and uncle Steve took a long hike into their tiny cabin. They had to hike through marsh, up steep inclines and across a floating bridge to get to the cabin. They loved every minute of it. I was able to have some alone time at the house while aunt Jackie worked. I soaked in the beautiful scenery and practiced my selfies. When the boys got back, uncle Steve took us all on an individual float plane ride to take in the breath taking views. We went fishing and showed uncle Steve that we are NOT fisherman. But, we had fun anyway. We stayed up until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and sat by the fire and talked and laughed and bonded. The boys sat in their hot tub, visited the Yaks and laughed and played together and had a great time. We had to take a red eye flight on the way home and boy were we tired! It was well worth the trip of a life time to Alaska though.
